Oktoberfest is the largest folk festival in the world. Held in Munich (Germany). The second title of the festival in the local dialect called «Wiesn», which means "meadow". Every year about 6 million people visit the festival. The celebration took place from mid-September to early October in the meadow Theresa in the centre of Munich and lasts for 16 days.

Since then, it has been decided to hold an annual Oktoberfest. But the festival was not held in certain years due to the cholera epidemic, the Prussian-Austrian War and the Franco-Prussian War.
Electricity came in 1886, Oktoberfest. It is said that Albert Einstein bulbs were used in the beer tent Shottenhammer. In the First and Second World Wars, the festival experienced difficult times. The Nazis even renamed it the "feast of Autumn". In 1980 there was a terrorist attack when about 13 people were killed and 200 were injured.
At the festivals, there are several major events. At the start, there is a procession of hosts beer tents with barrels, this is followed by the unsealing of the first barrel. This is done by the Lord Mayor of Munich. A first sip is made the Bavarian Minister - President.
